Great job last night Marc. Thanks for the vid. I saw myself for about 5 corners in your review (until humorously nerfed off).
I am extremely pleased with my race. I gave up a lot of pace, but I was really consistent and didn't make any big errors, and these are a handful! This was the longest I've sat for one race since early spring in ACC, then all the back when we raced the Celicas last year. Going away for vacation next week so I'll be back with little practice again. But I know the car pretty well now!!
Thanks all for putting this on and great job Marc and Joe. Hurry back Brette, we need to restore Henry the Deuce's honor!!

Good race Cohn. Note for next race: Learn hell and toe again and how to change gears on H shifter! Terrible race last place on the qualy, and engine going down because i'm put the 2 gear in place of the 4... Training, training and after do this training again.

That was great fun last night, thanks all for some clean racing. I was disappointed in my quali performance and gridded 8th. I could tell by the nasty tone of my crew chief he wasn't happy. Did my best to have a clean start and although there were a few light contacts in the first few corners it went pretty well. After settling in I ended up in a long battle with Pete Holm. Pete was having a braking or understeer problem because he would lay down huge plumes of tire smoke in the faster corners and I couldn't tell where he was. I worked up the nerve to try and pass several times would get beside him and then on the straits his GT 40 pulled mine and I'd have to set it up again. After I finally made it stick, I managed to put some time on Pete (I'm assuming your tires were toast) lol. I ran by myself and pitted for fuel only a little after halfway, came out and still was alone The last 13 laps or so I started to pull time on Matthew Overton's Ferrari but I just couldn't quite reel him in before the race end. I think I ended up 7th overall when it was over. Love driving these cars. Congrats to the podium. Out of curiosity, did anyone change rubber?

I changed rubber, took almost a minute. I think I need to manage my tires a bit better. I just loaded the mod the night before and first laps I turned was 20 minutes before the race.
Haven't had a chance to try the Ferrari, but I'm pretty happy with the Ford,
Still crazy busy at work so I might not make all these races, they are a blast to drive,

Man, did I botch up my night! Got a horrendous start, but managed to stay close enough to Jerry to stay in his race with Bruno. After a lap or two I caught up to Bruno, and tried for a lap to stay close enough to help us catch back up to Jerry. Then Bruno went wide and I got inside him and as we raced to the next turn I forgot that I was in 3rd instead of 4th, and blew up entering the turn while downshifting. Geez. Turns out I had to leave early anyway so I'll have to wait on the official replay posting to see what happened from a few laps afterwards. It was good, though, to see some familiar names return to the series.

No tires for me. It would have worked out but I had a brain fart and sped in the pits.
BTW, if anyone would like to write up race reports for the CMS website, please let me know.

Since you have the extremely good taste to take a photo next to Hinch's Schmidt Petersen car that my Nephew engineered for I'll float you what I come up with for a setup. I have an ulterior motive in knowing where your car is in any given corner because I hope your front tires won't be at full lock. Lol. Passing you was like driving in a blizzard. Couldn't see a thing.

What a great race and congratulations to Marc, Joe and Ryan on the podium. And welcome back Marc! It is fantastic to have you back here, even if it will mean I regularly finish one position lower Felt pretty good on this track and even got my hopes up when I was able to run with Jason for a while and even pass him as he fell victim to some struggles as did we all. Not to last, I had my difficulties shortly thereafter and Jason was by and gone for good. From there, it became a bit of a lonely race as I was in a bubble of open track through to the pitstop. Came out in good order (no rubber) and managed to get by Bruno cleanly to regain 6th position and again in a bit of a bubble. Bob W gave me some hope for a while, but eventually stretched his advantage and then I started to have my issues, which almost played into Steve's hands, but I managed to get myself gripped for the last few laps and kept the gap steady. Hey Joe, am I no longer a senior??? I'm feeling pretty good, but only until I look in the mirror! C U all on the track next week.

I'm curious, how many of you brave gentlemen are driving with clutch and gated shifter? Seems like the only way to drive these beasts to me.

Hey Joe, am I no longer a senior??? I'm feeling pretty good, but only until I look in the mirror! Sorry. I'll fix it later. I need to consolidate the seniors list. There are so many to look through and only a few that still race with us. I always end up missing one. Last season it was Pete. Anyway, thanks for the heads up.

Hello friends again on the track with you, I love these cars and I enjoy driving them a lot, from the beginning I had a very good feeling with the Ferrari and I was able to get a second place on the starting grid, the race started and started well but between Joe and I put Marc, I stopped before because I was on the outside and I saw how Marc and Joe followed a little long what I took advantage of to pass and be first, he was rolling well and making a little difference with Marc and in the curve desoues From the arc I braked a little late and it went behind me, something that Marc and Joe took advantage of, we had made a difference with the fourth so I came back third, there I could squeeze a little and catch up with Joe and pass him something that I had also been doing with Marc when I Entucias me and I went down very fast and made my engine fly and my intentions to fight a podium too, so I can't wait to run again to have a gap, I congratulate Marc for the race, Joe for the second and Rya for the last step of pod io, and especially all those who dared to tame these beasts, see you on the track.

Not the best way to start the race series in the Ferrari. The setup from our test race wasn't worth a damn on this track. Didn't have enough time to really sort things out but got into the 16s. Plan was to drive clean and hope others had issues. Instead I had them. After a few laps the car didn't feel right and I had to fight it a little bit. I think I made a mistake and picked the wrong race setup.
It also didn't help that I figured my fuel wrong and had to make an extra stop. And I changed tires in the first pit stop which cost about a minute. So, wrong setup, bad execution. Gotta do better next time. Evan though I'm a Blue Oval dude I'm enjoying the Italian stallion. And looking forward to the tracks we're running.

Loving these cars! I did very little to the GT40 in terms of setup, but it really felt comfortable for me.
This was an entirely new course for me, and for some reason I always struggle to learn the layout of flat courses. I think the elevation changes serve as landmarks in my subconscious? Anyway, had some trouble putting in a clean lap without traffic for Qualy, but wound up 5th which I was happy with, although I think there was another half second out there. Had a great start for the race, managed to stay clean and get stuck in. Spent the first half chasing down Ryan S., but I just couldn't reel him in. Went for the pits and took tires, and realized halfway through my pit stop that other drivers were not taking tires. No matter, I'll come out swinging on fresh rubber and maybe make up the deficit? I was able to claw my way back to 5th but wound up running on my own. All in, I'm thrilled with 5th considering the 48 second long pitstop, and as always I had a blast. The heroic, hairy-chested slides these cars are capable of is intoxicating!
Next week I'll try managing my tires a bit better, hopefully that'll help my future results!
BTW, I'm using a G27, with clutch and 6-speed H-shifter. The finicky transmission on this car coupled with the need to heel-toe really enhances the immersion for me!

Manage to get back and finish 9th... but not because I passed anyone but because of the others having issues.
I have to apologize to Ryan as, on the first lap, at the braking for the hairpin (T7), I was following to close and had a windshield full of Ford rear end and lost all references. I ended up T-boning Ryan. I saw him bounce off to the left and could not believe what I had just done... I waited for him and then started again... with a crooked wheel, checking if I could run it until my pit time... when I braked, the car rotated like crazy, I could not drive that, I pitted and that was it for my race.
Out of the pits, I ran alone until every one else pitted. Then Jason came out in front of me, since he had the pace for fourth, I knew I wasn't going to be in his company for long but to my surprise, he was over driving the thing and I stuck with him. I boo-booed going into corner 3 and lost him. A lap later, going toward the hairpin, Jason was getting close to Bruno who promptly blew up in front of him. From a far it looked like Jason "spun on his oil" as he veered right before the hairpin. When I got there, Bruno was off the outside of the hairpin with a BBQ going in the back. I did the corner and Jason was just getting back on the track right in front of me. So again followed him for a few laps and, I don't know why, he decided to let me by. Being a lap down, it didn't help my position. Anyway, thank you Jason, the second half was not a total lost.
Thank Joe for keeping everything going, 13 entrants for a summer month is quite ok.

Since it was asked, not using the clutch, but a sequential shifter I find is very 'grounding' when it comes to making shifts in good time for the corners. Every time I forget, I'm trying to wrestle the Ferrari around a corner with one hand, and my 'bad' one at that!

The rest is up to us, and hopefully Marc will be back to protect his lead!
No worries Ryan.. as Arnold once said.. I'll BE BACK! Especially if we can restore HII's honer in the GT40.
One of the funnest races I ever ran was dueling with Ryan at Monza70 at R2P in rF1. From the MNRL archives (circa April 2014) - most P1 and P2 swaps per lap more than 10 laps straight. Brooks in the P917 and Saucy in the F512. Saucy won after a quicker pit and some fancy pick maneuvers in lap traffic. All Good stuff!
PS: I also have screenies of Joe, Mathew and Aaron from the same race but have reached my upload limit
