Gadsarnit, crimminy, gull-durned....
I went to go from 4th to 5th and grabbed 3rd. That was it, race run.
I had a decent lead at the time but I was pretty sure Gilles would catch me up at some point. When the engine blew, I saw that Joe was out of the race already (same thing I guess) so I would have been pretty happy with 2nd for the championship. Last race will be a cracker. I think its at Brands which is a track I love, but I don't really know how fast I am on it though...

This Sim hates me! Had a decent start but took it easy first 5 laps with heavy fuel until I got comfortable. Sitting in last place proceeded to turn it up a bit and start chasing. Through others errors I worked my way up to right behind my usual nemesis Bob Williams by pit stop time we were nose to tail. I made the mistake of ducking in with him to find my pit stall blocked by another car. I went back out and did a fuel economy run on fumes (about 1/2 liter left) and got back to the pits again which were clear, but the damage was done. I hustled the car for all it was worth but the 35 second deficit to Bob was too much to make up. Ended up fourth or fifth dang it. Congrats to all for a great race!!

Well, I did very well....for one lap. But on lap two I flubbed the chicane, going off stage left and giving Bob (I think) no time to miss me as I tried to regain control, which left Jerry (I think) not enough time to miss him. Sorry about that, guys. I don't know how much damage you two incurred, but judging from the fact that I passed Jerry when he was in the pits at the halfway point I'd say he had even more damage than I had. My long pit stop kept me still within reach of Peter, but seeing him and catching him are too different things. rrrrrrr

The freagin thing's a blur...
I'll post more later.
Story: Two laps from the end, leading, in the Ost Kurve, the long right hander at the far end, I was keeping the inside as Martin tried the outside... BANG! He went off, I didn't.
I posted for him to do an RRC... he did. Kewl!
Being a steward myself, I find it refreshing to be on the receiving end of a protest... to which I posted in the RRC Forums:
I recuse myself. But happy he did an RRC, I wanna know myself.

Hoo..Raa.. for once I had a decent finish. Not so much because I was the fastest driver out there. But we were missing a couple fast drivers, Ryan and Joe had some shifting misfortunes and I was fairly consistent across the race. That said, I have had my share of trouble getting on with this mod. Got a late start to begin with and been trying to keep the car in check with varied results. Throughout this evolving improvement, I realized I can't hang with the front runners. But, I was hoping I could at least hang with Steve and Bob (both fast and steady foes). Weird how they had less luck than me this week.
Speaking of odd things in this event, I saw Steve come up and try to use the same pit stall as myself (as he mentioned). So, I may be inadvertently responsible for his bad luck in the pits. But I had no idea I was suppose to share my pit stall with someone else. I never saw any comments in the sign up forum, the pre-race or previous race results about pit sharing. Did I miss something about coordinating pit stalls with other drivers and how to coordinate with them? If so, I apologize. Just tell me who to coordinate with in future events (I use Discord if that helps). Because I would much rather race others than fight over pit stalls.
Congrats to Gilles and Martin for a close fought race up front! I'm sure the Commendatore would be proud of your speed. Just not the Charles vs. Sebastion closeness. ;P
How to see you all at the next race!

What to say? The previous race at Le Mans was the first race that I felt like the Ferrari and I were dancing to the same tune. For this race I had a solid setup that was very competitive. Towards the end of quals I was in 6th place. I got too aggressive on one of the last corners and went bouncing over the grass. As the car slowed down off track I noted there wasn't enough time to get another lap in and decided to hit the ESC key. Just before I did I was DQ'd. You gotta be kidding me!
I asked Joe if he could reset my car. He said he wasn't sure how. I thought I could exit the sim, pick another Ferrari, and rejoin during warmups; which I did. I got back just as everyone was rejoining the game - thanks Joe.
So I jumped into my new Ferrari to try and get a couple warmup laps in. I did a double take as soon as I was in the seat. The roof was missing! Apparently, some Ferraris ran with no roof and high windows on both sides. I liked the view.
I started in last place and gained two positions on the first lap. Bob grabbed one back about halfway through the second lap. Aaron was leading us as we headed for the second chicane. His rear slid out, he went off track and came sliding back on. Bob hit him from behind which put the both of them sliding sideways across the track in front of me. I t-boned Bob and went spinning off track. And that pretty much finished my race.
I was way behind and the car lost both speed and stability. At the pit stop I asked the crew to fix the damage. That cost 1.5 minutes and yielded nothing.
Congrats to all intrepid drivers taking the green flag.

@brette, I was baffled by that one too, with 9 cars on track doubling up on pit boxes was the last thing I thought I had to worry about lol. No worries, I'm not sure if we shared one or mine was just ahead of yours and really tight. I had been doing AC with ghost car pits and came in on the wrong side of the pits anyhow. I had subconsciously thought about stopping the lap before. Oh well.
