Having trouble installing the mod at the link above, when I go to the packages section in rf2, it fails the installation and references a bunch of missing files that appear to be related to car skins. It shows the error only for a moment and then goes away, but it's enough to stop it from installing. FWIW, the link from earlier today on discord installed just fine, not sure what changed between the two files.

Not sure what was going on.

I'm having the same issues Bob was having, tried reloading several times. The mod shows up in the packages with the green check, but when i try to join multiplayer it comes up with an error. I'm loading 1.28 dx11 version. when I try to run single player i see the track but when I click the drop down arrow, nothing, all the other tracks drop down and show a picture of the track to select.
i find the whole procedure a bit gliche, hopefully it gets sorted out. I was hoping the update would be a lot smoother and easier to find your way around.
it also looks like the modern version that will be racing saturdays runs a different version of the track which may be messing things up a bit

I was able to load the 1.28 DX11 Daytona track and drive it in single player. Loading and Navigation is a bit quirky - agree. But it seems to work if the file is not corrupt. Like Peter said, the current Daytona CMS server running seems to be set up for GTEs and I get an error when trying to join it. If we are running this track and mod. Tuesday, we need to sort out any online differences soon. Thanks for the great help so far!

The server should be up shortly.
They are still working on a version of Daytona without the chicane to match the configuration from 1971. The track may change before race night if it's done.

Roger that Joe! I'll stick with V1.28 chicane version for now. Bird in hand better than 2 in bush! Mainly want to test my input glitch and car grip on the server before race day.

Does Anyone have a problem with moving the race start time up to 8:30 EST? If so let me know.

Does Anyone have a problem with moving the race start time up to 8:30 EST? If so let me know. Honestly, it's hard enough for me to make it to 8:30 EST qualy and 9pm race, that almost certainly wouldn't work out for me. However, if the group prefers an earlier start time due to the length of the race, don't let me stop the show! I'll just spectate I'd it comes to that, no worries.

No problem with start time. Big problem getting the track file to work. I downloaded the track from this posting and also from the one in Discord. In both cases the tracks activated in rF2 Packages. In both cases when trying to select the track in the game there was no drop-down track version to select.
Both track files' properties are exactly the same and are 219mb. I run Win7 with DX11. Thanks for any ideas.

Ok, we will keep the start time the way it is, but I did change the fuel usage to 1X for this race. As for the track, I'll see if I can recruit some help. I'm not sure what's going on.

Thanks for that. Just to echo the current issues, I am still having trouble with the track as well. It tells me that it fails installing package because it's missing virtual cmp files for the Ferrari, Lola, Porsche (not Alfa for some reason).

Ok, I removed the original mod car files from the "packages" folder, and removed all of the previous Daytona attempts. Then, followed the link for the new subscribed cars, and then attempted to join the CMS server, and the track auto-installed just like it's supposed to. Was on track without issue just now... maybe it had something to do with the mod cars?
