NEED HELP WITH FORCE FEEDBACK AT SPA:
My wheel is a Thrustmaster T-500. On the first half of Spa the amount of wheel shake nearly pulls the wheel out of my hand when using my settings that worked fine in our previous races, including Sebring, with these cars. And those settings work fine on the second half of Spa. Lowering the FFB to minimize the shake takes the feel out of the wheel; there's no wheel feedback.
I set the wheel in the Win7 game controller at FFB-60% and the other settings at 100/100/0/0. I set the car FFB in the game at 60%, same as the controller.
Any one with a T-500 have the same issues and a solution? Thanks much.

Same with my G27. It's the old bumpy track. You'll have to find a happy medium.

Some increased damping and linearity and other effects reduction changes helped me. But like Joe says, you will have to experiment with your settings to reduce the bump induced spikes while keeping useful inputs the best you can. Unless, someone else with Thrustmaster wheel base similar to yours can make some proven suggestions.
Bottom line is you are not alone.

You can reduce these with smoothing, to quite a large degree (don't go too high or latency will be the result...anything under 10-12ish should be ok) 2 - Play with the caster in the car...this alone has a massive implication on the way the ffb comes through. 3 - Don't equate higher forces with more rattling (not always). You can reduce some rattling (especially in TM products) by adding a bit more strength to the ffb (sometimes. Again, play with caster while doing these things. Generally, higher caster will equal heavier steering < this is very simplistic explanation, but good enough for what we're discussing here) There's one straight here towards the end of the first half (sorry, not a corner name guru..I just drive the damn thing )...it's very bumpy and the car will lurch around and the ffb that comes from it can be intense. If it's too much, go down with strength, but if it's just rattling, up the ffb strength, along with more caster. Experiment, you'll see what I'm saying with these things. Just for reference, I'm at 100/100/0/0 in TM profiler. My in car ffb strength in the Lola is 85%. Smoothing at '4'. 0 min force (min force can add a bit of weight in the lower end, but also results in MUCH more saturation of the ffb channel. I used to run a bit until I realized just how much more it saturates the ffb channel, which results in a lot of clipping. Which means you have to turn down overall force, which means less feel and also more 'rattly'. Also, in the showroom, there's some different ffb settings of 'soft', 'medium', and 'hard' in there. Assure you're not on 'hard'...but also, if on 'soft', try combination of 'medium' and the above suggestions, might come up with something to your liking. Hope that helps.

Yet another video cut from the 1966 GP Movie. I just wanted to see how many of you recall what they were talking about in this opening scene? And more importantly, how many of the real drivers in the meeting they are having in the opening scene can you identify? Anyone know what Brylcreem was? Copy and paste in YouTube may be required to access the video.

The road surface before Masta is giving them too much FFB response and they all don't want to die in the wet.
