First off, thanks admins for changing the start procedure to a standing start. I enjoyed getting to race with some folks I hadn't been on the track with -- I absolutely love the no password option that helps encourage that. Hey, first time visitors, do come back...the season has just started!
For me, race one, not much. Gained some positions but only a couple on my own merit. I burned out the motor entering T1 about halfway, so watched the remainder of the race from the sidelines. Race two, during practice I finally added high traction control, and adjusted the gearing so that I wouldn't blow up. But I adjusted the wrong direction (duh) and toasted out on lap two (rrrrrrrrrrrrr). But I did get a great laugh out of Bob R.'s advancing his position over me that lap -- that was fun to watch from in car.
I qualied in the boondocks... and got up to third place finish. Good enough! But I did have reservation all race long as I thought I had squeezed Brian against the guardrail as I was looking up front and something flew up in my mirror and Brian was not there anymore. At the end I learned it was Ross who tried to bump draft with him.
2nd race was a lot more challenging. I started 4th and ended up first after a few laps with Eduardo right behind me. I thought that it wasn't going to last. We exchanged position only twice and I was still the one in front at the end. I won ! WooHoo !
Thanks to all for showing up and thank you Joe for your continuous effort.
I own crappy boxes... well you know what? 16gigs of 1866 HyperX FURY on a Asus P7P55 LX with an i7-860 running a used GTX970 4GD5T OC on an new LG 29-UM69 21:9 screen... I'm doing way better! I even got myself a barely used G29! But I still endlessly mod rFactor...
