Hah! I finished one! Saw that Jerry was placed behind me on the grid, due to changing cars from his q effort's car I assume, and Bruno coming into the field too late to practice or q, so my effort at qualifying last was in vain. Janes started from the pits, for some reason (tech issue?), which we've seen happen before but still makes no sense to me), and Bruno blew by me before T1 L1 (cleanly). So, other than Jerry having to wait for a clean shot at passing me, and a couple of fun laps racing Peter, I was pretty much on my own all night, everyone's roving chicane. Congrats to Jason on his win!

This turned out to be a strange race. Wasn’t able to get on track to practice until the day of the race. Spent most of the time learning the track. Not very much time tweaking the setup. Turned the wrong way coming out of the garage when the last practice section started and got DQ’d. Borrowed Mr. McCudy’s Parmalat car for the rest of practice and qualifying. Jumped off line to retrieve my Parmalat #22 for the race and started last for my stupidity.
So the strategy was to be consistent and hope for good things to happen. The racing gods must have taken pity on me because, wonder of wonders, the waters began parting in front of me on the first lap. Two drivers ahead (Messrs. Holm & Page) made small mistakes just as I caught up to them and let me past.
On lap 4 the same thing happened when I got close to Mr. McCurdy. Next up was Mr. Boynton. Coming through the last turn I found Tony facing backward on the edge of the track. The waters had, once again, parted putting me in P7.
On lap 5 I set off after Mr. Ekermann but Mauro either wasn’t affected by the race gods or, maybe, they got tired of the game. I chased him for about 10 laps and then had to pit. I came out in P5 and was mostly by myself the rest of the race. Mr. McCurdy caught up to me later in the race and Frank put his #21 Parmalat in proper numerical sequence so I crossed the line in P6.
Congrats to all intrepid drivers taking the green and many thanks to the racing gods for their assistance!
