Just starting to get the feel of these cars and poof the series is over. Had some great wheel to wheel action this race with Aaron, Jerry and Brette. Great fun and many hilarious moments.
Thanks to Joe, Jason for putting on another great series.
Hopefully we can have some "Fun" races over the Holidays
Cheers, Pete

Congrats to Jason and Joe on their respective wins, and to Jerry and Peter on their respective senior wins!
These cars sure were a lot of fun to drive, and I pretty much got the hang of them until last night's races...
Race one, and on an early lap I ran Pete off the track -- had a total brain fart near the end of the back straight, literally giving Pete no room to run. Pete, you should protest that one, because regardless of the reason, I gave you absolutely no room to run, which is unacceptable. Then, a lap later at nearly the same spot, I got two wheels into the grass and as a result I spun, which relegated me to last place. BUT Tony and Luis had their respective offs, and after that every time one of them would have an off, and I'd have a chance to gain a position, I'd have an off in the same turn. I got a case of the guffaws eventually, which salvaged the race for me.
Race two -- man, what a start! Drivers going every which way, and I just KNEW something bad was going to happen; but it didn't (congrats to everyone!). And soon, it was me, Luis, and Tony again, doing performance comedy -- hey, you two, thanks for the fun :-)
Like I said, love this mod, and I hope we get the chance to run it again (like Peter suggested, maybe some fun races during the holiday season?).

Aaron, we've raced together a long time, you are always one to give plenty of room. I know you didn't see me, I was having a case of the giggles while I was trying to keep it straight in the grass. It's all about fun and that was a blast.

I thank you again for being able to run with you where there are very good level of drivers and that makes us all better drivers, Thanks and see you on track.

i In this series I was driving the light blue Porsche #14 in honor of my late friend, Bob Ballenger, who drove his Porsche Speedster to a win at the first event ever held at Road America September, 1955. He drove the car from his home in Highland Park, Ill, to the track at Elkhart Lake, and then drove it back home after the races. His wife, Toni, is in the car about to take the parade lap with him. Bob actually got me started in sim racing many years ago. He raced in CMS when our league, VOR, merged with CMS so long ago now. I had fun at VIR with some good chases between Luis, Aaron and myself, all vying for the last three spots. I had nice setups to try from Joe and Jason, but couldn't keep it together for more than a lap at a time. I didn't expect to be on the pole after the inversion for the second race, so the first turn was almost a disaster, but everyone managed to get around without much banging. Congrats to Joe and Jason and Pete and to Jerry Hamilton for the Senior Championship.

During the season I don’t spend much time noting points and standings. I figure if I do my best each race it will all work out the way it’s supposed to. The standings got my attention for this race though. Last race of the year and I was in first place in the Senior’s division. Messrs. Page and Holm, respectively, close behind. I worked hard on a setup and managed to create a Frankenporsche that I thought might keep me in first place. I borrowed a little of this, and some of that, from Messrs. Whited and Miller (thanks gentlemen) and mixed in a couple dashes of my own ideas. Even though I liked the car, it was more important to not make major mistakes. RACE 1I wanted to out qualify both Aaron and Peter so I could get a lead in the first race. With qual time winding down I was behind Peter and ahead of Aaron. There was time for only one last qualifying lap. Went out and managed to squeeze ahead of Peter by 0.2 seconds. Whew! So guess how the start went. Both Peter and Aaron jumped me going into T-1. Chased after them but got knocked off track a lap later, losing another position. Caught back up to both of them on lap 4. Tried to go inside Peter into T-1 and we did the inside-out, outside-in do-si-do with him staying in the lead (nice dancing with you sir!). That same lap Aaron went off road and let us both by. I hounded Peter for five laps until he made a slight mistake in T-1 which let me past. I managed to stay there and finished in P-6; same place I started. Peter was right behind. Aaron slipped an extra slot. RACE 2With the reverse start Peter was in third on the grid, I was fourth and Aaron was ninth. It was still anyone’s senior championship, especially if major mistakes were made. Peter and I got a jump on the pole and I followed him into T-1. Then going through the next two corners the unthinkable happened. Mr. Lalonde and I made contact, went spinning off track and to the back of the field (Sorry for that Gilles. I knew you were on the outside and was trying to leave room ). We took off after the pack and got by Mr. Boynton on lap 2. The same lap Aaron went off track, letting us by. We caught Mr. Rossi on lap 9. Ahead of me Gilles went for the pass but Rossi went into a slide that Gilles got caught in, putting him off track (It was a fun run with you Gilles ). Their incident let me by. A couple laps later the checker dropped and I finished in P-5; behind Peter in fourth. And somehow I was still on top the Senior division. Congrats to all intrepid drivers taking the green flags. Thanks to the Admins for an enjoyable series. Special thanks to the other old guys for a fun, competitive season. And thanks to all the other “kids” we raced with. Great fun!

Well, since I don't think anything was mentioned concerning dropping the worst race night or anything like that, and haven't heard anything about any IRR's for the last two races that could effect the championship standings, I'll say it: Congrats, Jason on the hard-fought championship! And Jerry, congrats on earning the top step on the senior's ckt!
I think I only got to race Jason in one or two races, and that was when he started behind me due to the field inversion -- and that lasted for maybe one lap :-) But Pete and I both got to race Jerry for the senior's title all season long, and he had to earn the title - and got to have a lot of fun doing it -- great racing with you, sir!
