MNRL 1971 Virtual World Sports Car Championship

Round 1 - 100 Minutes of Buenos Aires is Tuesday, January 5th, 2021, Qualifying at 8:30PM US EST
Location: Autódromo Municipal-Avenida Paz, Buenos Aires - 3.804 miles / 6.122 km

6:30PM EST – Server Reboot/Practice (2 hours)
8:30PM EST – Qualifying (20 mins)
8:50PM EST – Drivers’ briefing/Warmup (10 mins)
9:00PM EST – Race
Single File Rolling Start Procedure:
* Manually form single file line in your qualifying order.
* Leader will start the race at the exit of turn 3
* No passing until the exit of turn 3.
* ORANGE ZONE RULES ARE IN EFFECT FOR THE START OF THE RACE
* Orange zone is from race start to the start finish line

Race review and penalties:
The race start may be reviewed by the review team if an admin deems it necessary
as well as review any incidents during the race for which an incident protest was filed.
Penalties may be issued as appropriate.
The results of these reviews will be posted no later than one week before the next event.
All drivers are required to read the race review/penalty thread before the upcoming race so
that they will be aware if they are required to serve any penalties.

Race History

The 1971 Buenos Aires 1000 Kilometers was the opening round of the 1971 International Championship for Makes season. It took place at the Buenos Aires circuit No.15, Argentina, on January 10, 1971. Grand tourer class cars did not participate in this event.
Scuderia Ferrari driver Ignazio Giunti was killed during the race. He was leading the race when his car ran into the back of the disabled Matra driver Jean-Pierre Beltoise was pushing to the pits. Both cars were caught on fire and Giunti was unable to escape.
