Hey gang, pretty quiet here! Challenging race!, Congrats to all the class winners. Very close at the front after over 2 hours of racing. For myself I found the race a bit long. I'm good for an hour and half or so. No way was I able to do all of it, sooo I had little help. My future son- in- law stood in for a few stints. He's not new to sim racing but doesn't have all the equipment. My daughter is getting him a proper wheel & pedal package for his birthday in a couple weeks and he just obtained a gaming PC, so after getting a taste of running with us, hopefully he will join us. I'll buy him the Rf2 game for his birthday as well to motivate him.
Hopefully he didn't get into the way too much, kept telling him to watch his mirrors and stay out of the way. He'll catch on fast. It's ok if you take my points away for this race, I had outside help.
Also do we have to run the same car or can we jump into something else for some variety ?
We'll see you in the Caterhams
Cheers, Pete

I think most don't add their comments in various places, so it gets a bit scattered. I personally find discord good for post race convo and stuff like that though...much easier/quicker to have real time comms. Regarding race length...yes, it was a long one, and certainly outside the norms of MNRL racing in the last years. But the long ones are few and far between, and we are giving points for 50% completion of races as well to try to balance that out a bit, all the while keeping balance with the Saturday VWSC series that we are mirroring here in this series. Some of those drivers from that series are using the MNRL races to 'practice' for Saturday races, and some experimentation with keeping a balance is happening. I don't see a need to remove your points (unless we have some kind of major objections from others)...tbh, we have no rules against someone stepping into your seat that I am aware of. Hopefully your future son-n-law will join us for future races once he's established. Always welcoming new drivers around here! About car choice...you get one free car change and after that your points will be removed and you'll have to start from scratch. We hoped everyone would test the cars and select the car they felt suited them best, and we're ok with one change, but don't want to see drivers changing car each week or anything like that.

Heck, Pete, I wish I had thought of getting a stand-in for a stint or two! Wouldn't have helped my race, though, as I crashed out after a drive-through, and the only replacement I would have had was a 66-yr-old half blind woman who has never raced a minute of her life (I wonder if you could tell the difference that race....) But as far as subtracting the points, no way. If somebody comes up with a new technique or a new tweak in real world racing, it's legal until it specifically isn't.

We don't even have rules against shared cars in this series, so if drivers wanted to they could share a ride, do driver swaps in these longer events and the whole nine yards. Not much difference in a driver swap between two online drivers and swapping out in the physical seat...doesn't bother me a bit, especially if it keeps some of you that aren't so keen on the super long ones involved and on track!
