I see it has been a long time since the last post here. I realize that info on the races can be found on cmsracing.com, so the schedule(s) are easily found, and one can watch the races, both live and later, via YouTube (just search CMS MNRL to find them), which I do nearly every race. But I see that many of the folks that have raced here for so many years don't make those races, and I'm wondering what you all are up to. Have you found another place to race that works better with your schedule, or are you taking a break for a while?
As for me, I'm still having an awful time with my wheel and rF2, and I'm suspecting that there is some sort of conflict with the wheel and my VR headset (which I rarely use) (for you old farts like me, do you remember having to reassign devices in DOS so that DMAs and IRQs weren't duplicated for devices? I think my problem might be something similar, but I'm getting so lazy I may just uninstall the VR stuff and see if that does the trick :-) I certainly have all the assignments correct for my wheel for rF2....any suggestions are certainly welcome.
Anyway, if you've raced with the MNRL during the last 15 years and have lapsed into inactivity, please go ahead and post here. There certainly is no recent activity on this board, and I'd enjoy reading up on what you folks are doing, where you might be racing, and what sim you are using. Perhaps we'll find some commonalities and can meet up for some gentlemanly competition. I can't be the only one missing trying to beat friends out of the next turn!

Just a quick update: my VR headset had been physically disconnected from my PC (I had it wired via USB to be able to use my computer's memory), had wi-fi disabled in Windows, and the batteries were removed, I had it disabled in Windows 10 and assigned other devices as the default, and yet I still had trouble with my wheel all this time. But I hadn't uninstalled the setup files. I did this finally, as well as uninstalling and re-installing the wheel software. Took the F1 out to run a few laps at Monza, and the wheel performed as it should. Apparently "plug and play" doesn't apply to the combo of my wheel, my pc, and this particular vr headset (or my installation thereof). Just thought I'd mention this, just in case any of you run into someone else who is having similar trbls. I'm sure there must be a fix -- maybe there already is one in a later software for the VR set -- but I don't care, because the darned thing makes me feel claustrophobic and I won't be using it. I'll probably donate it, maybe to a school, or maybe to some kid in the neighborhood. And, to the relief of all who will be in the final F1 race (according to the schedule on CMS's site) I won't run that race because I don't want to get in the way of whatever points battles may be decided in that race. But I will be on the track in the future, and I hope some of the folks who haven't been around will be also, to plump up those fields to the 30+ level.

Hi Aaron, How goes? I'm not getting in a lot of racing during the summer months. Being in the marine business gobbles up a lot of free time. But during this past winter months I have migrated over to iracing competing in the Wednesday CMS racing league. The guys are super fast and dedicate a lot of their time practising and setting up the cars. With usually about 40 entries and an AM class there is usually someone to race with. ( for me at the back) I will probably run with the Lucky Dog Sim Racing League this fall in iracing, they will be using a variety of cars & tracks with fixed set-ups . More my speed! I'm just not really impressed with Rf2 , to me the sim just does not have that realistic feel to it. I know iracing can get expensive but I'm used to real racing which is super expensive. I miss the gang at MNRL, hope to join again on another platform Cheers !

I'll be watching for you, Pete. I remember you raced, western Canada and northwestern US, wasn't it? I have always shied away from iracing, not because of expense (although that does figure into it) but the subscription model that I assume they still use puts me off. I don't mind paying the money to BUY something, just don't want to RENT it, y'know? I figure (due to the above post) I haven't given rf2 a decent chance, and I owe it that. Frankly, I liked Automobilista but do understand why a sim change was needed. Heck, I even liked GSCE...remember racing those eastern bloc cars? :-) What a hoot. Do let me know if you see any racing on those sims with fixed setups, ok? Until then, gl on Wednesdays.
