We are planning to race the 1998 CART mod next season and I have a question for everyone. While the original mod is fairly well balanced, I have also made a League Edition where all the cars use the same chassis. The question is, what the majority prefers. Please cast your vote if interested in racing this very fun mod. CART_Extreme_AMS_v1501CART_Extreme_LE_AMS_v1501

Joe, what are the differences between teams/cars and is the field be sorted as first come first served (if original mod) or all cars will be open to everyone?

There are slight differences in horsepower torque and handling. It would be first come first serve. Most of the cars are Reynard. The Reynard chassis are the same, they vary on the engine they use with slight horsepower and torque differences. The rest are 1 Lola, 2 Penske and 3 Swift cars. Also the Lola and the Penske cars use Goodyear tires, the rest use Firestone. In the LE version all cars use the Reynard Chassis with the Honda engine and Firestone tires. I voted for the LE version. I'll drive the Swift Newman Haas #6 car.

Anything but ovals. OK with CART in conventional tracks, even with a win in an oval in R2P I don´t know how to be fast

Maybe you didn't select the oval package in the showroom. Don't be that guy . I will help with setups and or advice. Tentative schedule: Jacarepaguá Oval Portland Toronto Michigan Oval Mid-Ohio Road America Laguna Seca Fontana Oval

I'll run either, of course, but I feel that if Joe took the time to tweak the mod I'd like to give his efforts a chance. I see some tracks on the schedule that I really like, and it will be interesting to run a couple of ovals for the first time in years.

Tracks seem fine.
LE vs Standard... I just had what I could call a bad experience with the HSO F3 : I had a good engine but the Ensign car was awful.
I'd rather it be all the same. F.Classic, F1-95 and the Brazilian Stockcar were all super. The Bug, Gol and Puma got us all in separate fights.
If standard is chosen, fast cars should be off limits to fast drivers. Top 5-6 should be running in back marker teams.

Looks like it will be LE. Thanks for the input.

Well, if we're picking cars already, I'd like to drive the Patrick Racing #20, please.

Well, if we're picking cars already, I'd like to drive the Patrick Racing #20, please. I don't think he asking for car choices yet. That is usually part of a series announcement with tracks and dates included where we list our car of choice for easy tracking. There is plenty to choose from with this mod.
