OMG, those were two of the most fun races I've had in the last year! I think that, between them, I got to race the whole field except Jason and Gilles. Had a TON of fun racing Pete and Tony -- guys, I hope you were laughing and gritting your teeth as often as I was. If by any chance there is a New Year's "drink and drive" this year it should be with this track and mod combo.
I'm still rather disappointed in how few chose to race. Maybe we need to change to another sim that has a similar mod for the alternate weeks to increase field size?
Anyway, congrats to the winners, and thanks to all for a fun night. See you next week.

I had a blast, fun cars, very forgiving. Pete and Aaron and Brette were great fun to race around, as Aaron said, laughing and gritting teeth all the while.

Great time running with Aaron & Tony as well, what a busy track! I may not have the fastest car but it sure is wide What about automobilsta 2? I bought it a few months ago and haven't had a bunch of time on it but the graphics look great, the rainy weather & wet track is amazing. Would it bring in more drivers?

Joe, I'll go with any sim you decide upon. I'll buy AMS2 if that's the way you decide to go (I don't know squat about it). I know that Race Room had a fairly decent amount of free content, if money is an issue (I haven't raced that one, either). And there might be the possibility of enticing a few folks from another CMS series that races Assetto Competione to join in if you run that sim (I do have that, and the graphics are amazing, although ease of use, well, not so much for an old fart). And rF2 is also out there. Just no iRacing (I don't mind buying, but I hate renting, software!).
It might also make sense for MNRL to leave the alternate weeks open to various trials of sims. Perhaps that might also entice some new folks who already run those sims into looking into the great racing that you and Jason have kept alive.

AMS2 isn't really a viable option at the moment, imo. The user base is not yet there, and the sim is not ready for prime time yet either. ACC - doesn't really cater to what MNRL runs. No variety there, just GT3/GT4 (modern) and like 15 tracks. Not much we could do with that here. R3E - meh, if one wants to play simcade games it's lovely (sounds are awesome in R3E!)...I wouldn't really call it a simulator though.
Side note regarding these MCR 2000 cars - these cars exist in rF2 (Reiza built them, so they are 'official' content)...after Aaron mentioned it here the other day, I remembered they did exist in rF2 and took the car for a drive to compare. They are identical to the cars here in AMS, just slightly more 'progressive' because there's more fidelity in rF2 and thus the cars feel a [very slight] bit more 'alive'. Overall though, very hard to differentiate them from the AMS version. Only problem being, a lot of the AMS tracks don't really exist in rF2 (Reiza did bring a few of them to rF2 in the track pack they created, but it's only like 4 of them)....truthfully though, I think these cars would be great at a ton of tracks (smaller tracks, mostly) so that wouldn't really be an issue.
Given the amount of rF2 racing at CMS right now, I'd venture to guess we could bring in some drivers (maybe not a lot, but a few)if we were running a series or two in rF2.
I'd assume most here at least own rF2 (base game)....slight problem in the packaging system in rF2....so there is some cost involved in acquiring content if one doesn't already own the car pack. But, with single car series, not a huge deal.
Some great mods out there for rF2 that are in MNRL spirit.
Idk...spitballing a bit this morning, just sharing what I know. We should take a few polls, see who here might be interesting in such switch, who owns what content, etc. ...discuss this more in depth (probably need a dedicated thread for it)
................
As to the actual races Tuesday night...was very fun battling with Joe up front. I love these cars and am surprised they are not utilized more (here in AMS and rF2)...they are great little cars. They don't require super high skill level to take them near or to pace....they can be pushed around like crazy. Every time I think I'm at the limit, I find more time. Cars like that keep practice exciting, for sure!

Finally - unlike the first three tracks I managed to finish both Taruma sprint races without incident. Hopefully, I can continue doing it. RACE 1 Started in fifth place with Mr. Brooks ahead and Mr. Page behind. At the start going down the straight Brette crossed over in front of me putting me fourth in the left lane. That allowed Aaron, who started behind him, to move up to second in the right lane and squeeze between me and Brette (nice move). Mr. Holm was behind me completing our conga line. On lap 2 my rear stepped out in T1 just enough to let Peter go past, putting me in P7. Three laps later Peter spun out just after he passed Aaron which let me by both of them. That put me in P5 with a big gap to the cars ahead and things stayed that way until L-16. Coming around the last turn I saw Mr. Lalonde off track and went past into P4. Lucky for me Gilles ran out of laps and that’s where I finished. RACE 2 Started this one in P3 right behind Mr. Boynton on pole with Mr. Lalonde next to him. About half way through the first lap Tony went wide off track putting Gilles in the lead. Coming off the last turn I was surprised to see Gilles go into the pits. That put me in the lead of the how-long-will-it-take-before-the-faster-cars-get-past racing game. Mr. Brooks was hounding me from behind and pulled off an inside pass going through a corner on L-5; pulling Mr. Whited with him (nicely done gents). On the next lap Brette spun in the last corner. That put me in P2. On L-13 I flashed the faster Mr. Miller by and Brette (Mr. Back Again) wasn’t far behind. He used a little hip check move exiting a corner to drop me to P4. And that’s where I ended up. These cars are definitely a hoot. And I appreciate the excellent driving by everyone. Makes for fun racing. Congrats to all intrepid drivers taking the green

Jason, I just checked and rF2 is $31.99 at Steam. I bought it a couple of years ago, but never attended a race using the sim. But I have kept up with the updates, so I'm good with trying that out (along with whatever other sims may deserve a trial). (MCR2000 cars "more alive" in rF2 than in AMS?!!! -- bring it on!)

I went in the pits because AMS gave me a 10 sec S&H penalty.
I did not jump the start but I may have been forward of Tony... maybe for wrong starting position.
