Probably shouldn't have run the race because real life didn't give me enough time to fully sort the Mercedes-Sauber out. During the race I was enjoying myself even though I was fighting the car. That is, up until I got DQ'd.
I'm guessing it had to do with cutting corners or too many off tracks. My spotter never said anything about either and I never saw any warnings on the HUD. I needed all the road I could get and was dropping two wheels over the line on a number of them. And I did run off track a number of times.
What are the Sebring cornering rules? Thanks.

Agree with Aaron - those are some really nice screenies Joe! I think my car is in at least 3 of them, including the field start lap. Sorry to hear about Jerry's track limit woes. I was having a decent race until overshooting my pit stall too much on my second pit to backup without a DQ. So limped it around another lap with less than full speed lap of fuel. Lost a lot of positions and time with that mistake. But it was intense fun otherwise. Grats to the front runners and all that kept their car in good condition.

I needed all the road I could get and was dropping two wheels over the line on a number of them. And I did run off track a number of times. What are the Sebring cornering rules? Thanks. Headlights. TURN ON YOUR HEADLIGHTS (or, better yet, set the things to 'auto' in the difficulty settings and you'll never have to concern yourself with any of this again!) So rF2 has an issue (surprise, surprise. lol)....when we run time acceleration (which we were)...when it gets dark enough to require headlights, rather than give you a full minute to turn them on after warning you (there will be a chat message stating 'headlights now required')....it basically gives you about 10 seconds (x10 acceleration, so ends up making sense in a dumb buggy way...but it is what it is) You don't get DQ for track cuts (unless you got penalties and refused to serve them for 3-5 laps or something...in which case you'd be getting bombarded with chat messages about it...and also an indicator at top left/middle of the screen will show that you have penalties to serve) But to answer the Sebring cornering rules question, just since you asked. ...it's dictated by the game. Track limits are same as always and Sebring is quite lenient in most places. Maybe the windy bit before the backstretch, it's pretty easy to get cut going over curbs there...but each and every time you actually get marked as having cut the track, there will be a chat message. It's not until 5th cut that you actually get a penalty (usually a DT...and again, there will be another chat message) Idk if you are running single or triple screens or what...but on single screen it's pretty darned impossible for me NOT to see the chat message box. However, perhaps you're on an ultrawide monitor or some other reason you can't see it. You can change the position of this little box, btw. Can even have it appear in the middle bottom of screen, rather than left hand side (or right hand side. Heck, for that matter, could make the thing come up in dead center of screen, but that'd be issue obviously and also would require a bit more work - ie...can only do that level of change to it in dev mode) Side note: If you really want to know and can't understand if/when you get DQ'd from race like that...go grab the XML from your results rF2 folder and open it (fi you open in in wordpad you can use search function and search your name and then scan through the various lines that have your name in them)...there will be a line detailing why you were DQ'd. ..but in this case, I'm 99.9% certain it was headlights (I remember saying something about it at the time, and it was that dusk point where they are 'required' when you dropped from server) ...let me know if you want to move that chat message box around, I can give better instructions if need be. However, just go in, set headlights to 'auto' and be done with it then it won't be a concern

Jason,
Thank you for the in-depth answer. I have been using auto headlights but I'll double check it.

Jason, Thank you for the in-depth answer. I have been using auto headlights but I'll double check it. Humm ....when you double check that auto headlights is on, let me know if it's somehow off by accident or something. I went digging through the XML and some results stuff and I can't seem to find the game's reason for your DQ, which is a bit weird to me. Usually there is a reason given of some sort, but there isn't one here. This could be some weird bug or something (and I do remember that right after S397 added the auto headlights option, some reported being DQ'd though their headlights was on...but I hadn't seen that in a long time and haven't seen recent reports of that, which I'd think we would...but, idk)

I looked at the server xml and it said nothing about a penalty. Some kind of a glitch Jerry, It's like you discoed.

I watched the replay and at the moment you were DQed your lights were off while everyone that was still on the track had theirs on.

I watched the replay and at the moment you were DQed your lights were off while everyone that was still on the track had theirs on. This is why I wonder if auto headlights was on or off [on Jerry's end]....if auto was on, this could be an issue worth mentioning in the future. If they were somehow turned off by accident or other settings issue then it's a whole lot less of a thing. Maybe Jerry will come along and let us know one way or another.

Thank you J & J. I also dug through the XML file for what felt like 2 hours. Found the same thing you did Jason; no reason given for the DQ. While getting ready for Thursday nights race I found that I had auto lights turned off. So I think that was the problem. I'm now wondering why I would have turned them off because they were set to on for previous races. Maybe old age, who knows. I will definitely be double checking that in the future along with the POV that I always have to reset going online.
