My apologies for not sticking around for the race, folks. I did watch some of it, and wished I had the energy to run at least to halfway -- you guys looked like you were having fun, and I think I could have kept up with some of the back pack if I just took it easier than I did in practice (when, I admit, I was pushing the car harder than I normally do). But I did FINALLY solve the issue I've had with my wheel since we've started using rF2, and the fix was something so obvious that I, as well as those trying to help me figure it out, totally overlooked. I'm going to embarrass myself telling this, but I do so just in case someone else has been avoiding these races due to an unmanageable car.
I use a G29, which needs to have the FFB set to a negative value. This was done automatically with rF1 when one chose a Logitech wheel, but for some reason this does not happen in rF2. Hence, until you change the setting in the same screen where you calibrate the wheel and assign buttons/keys, and SAVE it, it will always revert back to a positive value for FFB. When you do a file verification via Steam, if you had previously set the FFB to a negative value, it will change it back to a positive value (I did a file verification last season and never noticed the change!). Consequently, with the polar opposite effect of FFB working against you, the car is an absolute nightmare to drive.
Like I said, I'm posting this just in case someone is fighting the same thing with the steering. Hope it helps. See you folks at the next race.
